Eleven Colours III (Grommet) (2015)
Acrylic paint on canvas
80 x 80 cm
A compact but visually striking Compass work, centred on a circular form that sits forward against vertical bands of yellow, pink, ochre and deep red. The central ring and disc create a strong medallion-like presence, with colour divisions producing a sense of depth and transparency.
The title’s reference to a grommet is apt without being literal. The painting has an object-like clarity and would work particularly well where a single, focused abstract image is needed.
