Roy Osborne (1948-)
Eleven Colours IX (Quarterly) (2015)
Acrylic paint on canvas
60 x 60 cm
A smaller Compass work with four circular motifs set around a central diamond structure. Warm pinks, oranges, yellows, reds and olive greens are arranged in repeated diagonal bands, giving the painting a compact, almost heraldic symmetry.
At 60 cm square, it is more intimate than many of the larger works, but still has strong visual identity. It would work beautifully as a focused colour piece within a grouped hang or smaller wall space.
