Flying Colours II (2011)
Acrylic paint on canvas
91.5 x 91.5 cm
A warm and saturated variation from the Flying Colours group, with red, blue and green curved forms set against a vertically banded ground of orange, red and yellow. The composition has a strong central opening, with the surrounding arcs creating a feeling of rotation and suspension.
The painting is richly coloured but carefully ordered. It has a glowing, almost theatrical warmth, making it a confident statement piece for a room that can take strong colour.
